1 And Your Point Is?

2 Debutante

3 In Praise of B-Sides

Description

Camp, the original beat mangler from Montreal, is back with a vengeance, which as expected is best served cold (make that “perfect for the summer!”). Three brand new tracks in a brand new style that, for lack of a better word, we’ll misleadingly call “campstep”. And Your Point Is? is a busy yet consensus-building house track, Debutante is for expert dancers and In Praise Of B-Sides is actually A-Side material. Confusion is for lovers.

Camp

David Turgeon releases solo electronic music under the name Camp since 2000. Before that, he was known under the name Period Three. He is also part of two groups, Ensemble Camp (performance of works for prepared CD players, with A_dontigny) and Siblings (electronica songs, with Kaia Wong). Apart from that, he is the founder and director of the No Type label, a DJ, a webmaster, and an author of graphic novels and critic of comics. He has also invented a programming language in his spare time. → Full bio

June 23, 2007

nope, no news last week, we lacked some time for that, but we managed to release a new mini-album from camp, entitled is for lovers, with three fresh tracks that are, well, quite catchy it seems. in the meantime, the album broke popularity records (2100 downloads in a week!), partly thanks to a short review in de:bug magazine. as it’s written in german, we only understood the adjective “killer”, which we suppose means the reviewer didn’t hate it too much. anyway, camp is happy & he swears he’ll release more of that stuff soon. → Continued…
