Founded in October 1998, No Type is one of the oldest and most established MP3 labels. As 2002 begins, No Type is now releasing CDs, with the noted complicity of DIFFUSION i MéDIA. This compilation, entitled The Freest of Radicals gives a broad overview of the “No Type sound,” or absence thereof. [2 CD for the price of 1]
Made for the adventurous, its quality is high…
Prosper Prodaniuk, See Magazine (Canada)
All these tracks are very good explorations in sound texture and rhythmic pieces.
I Khider, Exclaim! (Canada)
There is an excitement in the sheer variety presented but further in the skill of execution…
Voiceworks (Australia)
Mmm, tasty, pass the milk.
B Wildered, Desiderata (USA)

George Zahora, Splendid E-Zine (USA)
The weirdest tracks often end up to be the best and discoveries await by the dozen.
François Couture, All-Music Guide (USA)

a little trivia: how many albums does no type have? the answer? we think there were 133 in total (not counting the 21 on no type: annexe). that said, there are some that were deleted with time, others are CDs, and some have weird catalogue numbers. which means that the fact, today, that we are presenting album “number 100”, is perfectly arbitrary & symbolic. actually, we’ve had 100 releases for a bit now. but we’re happy to write that number anyway. 100, 100, 100, 100, 100. i’m not getting tired of it. aw yeah. → Continued…
